Multi-Core Jacketed Speaker Cable for Sound Reinforcement
The LBSRVS-8X4.0 is an 8-core, 4.0 mm² (12 AWG) jacketed speaker cable with OFC conductors, PVC conductor insulation and an overall PVC jacket (jacket O.D. 16.5 mm). Multi-core constructions like this let an installer run several loudspeaker circuits in one pull — for example eight individual feeds, or four pairs when each circuit needs two cores — which simplifies stage, studio and fixed-installation wiring compared with running separate two-core cables for every speaker.
Because all LBSRVS jacketed cables share the same OFC / PVC construction, a whole venue can be wired with one family: 2-core versions for single loudspeaker feeds, 4/6/8-core versions for grouped circuits, subwoofer feeds and zone wiring. Keeping the same jacket family also makes cable identification, termination and future maintenance easier.
Where the LBSRVS-8X4.0 Fits in a Project
- Sound reinforcement: multi-circuit loudspeaker runs from amplifiers to passive speakers in stages, bars, KTV venues and event spaces.
- Project installation: permanent runs inside walls, ceilings and trunking where grouped circuits save labour and conduit space.
- Fixed audio wiring: 8-core blocks that can be split into pairs for stereo zones or parallel subwoofer feeds.
For single-circuit runs, the 2-core versions of the same family are often a better fit: see the LBSRVS-2X4.0 and LBSRVS-2X2.5. When the project needs reinforcement-filled touring construction instead, the LBSRVH-8X4.0 is the reinforced alternative.
Choosing Between LBSRVS Core Counts
| Configuration |
Typical use |
| 2 × 4.0 mm² (LBSRVS-2X4.0) |
Single loudspeaker circuit, medium/long runs |
| 4 × 4.0 mm² (LBSRVS-4X4.0) |
Two loudspeaker circuits or one stereo pair per pull |
| 8 × 4.0 mm² (LBSRVS-8X4.0) |
Grouped circuits, zone wiring, subwoofer banks |
When a single conductor size must serve every circuit, the 8-core version gives the most flexibility in one cable: the installer can pair cores as needed on site. For the general principles of choosing conductor size by run length and power, see the speaker cable selection guide and the speaker cable gauge guide.
LBSRVS-8X4.0 Buying FAQ
Can the 8-core cable be split into individual circuits on site?
Yes. The 8 cores are individually insulated inside the overall PVC jacket, so an installer can fan out and terminate each pair or single core as the project requires. Polarity marking should be confirmed before termination.
Is the LBSRVS family available in other core counts and sizes?
Yes. The LBSRVS jacketed range includes 2, 4, 6 and 8 core versions from 1.5 mm² up to 6.0 mm², all with OFC conductors and PVC insulation/jacket.
Can LBSRVS-8X4.0 be supplied with custom printing or cut lengths for a project?
Construction, jacket colour, printing, length, packaging and branding can be reviewed according to the confirmed product and project quantity for OEM / ODM projects. Send the model, specification, quantity and destination to the LBS sales team.

This size on the published LBSRVS ladder
Every size below is a published model in the same construction, read from each model's own specification sheet. This page is the 4.0 mm² size (12 AWG) with 8 conductors and a 16.5 mm jacket.
8 conductors carry 4 loudspeaker circuits: one positive and one negative conductor per circuit. A two-pole connector carries one circuit, a four-pole connector two — the pin-set rule is explained in NL2 vs NL4 vs NL8: Speaker Twist Lock Connectors.
In the same 8-core construction: The next size down is 3.0 mm² (13 AWG) with a 15.5 mm jacket.
Cross-section, not the model number, sets conductor resistance and therefore the loss over a given run: the length-versus-gauge table is in the speaker cable gauge guide, and the mm² / AWG conversion is set out in mm² to AWG.
Sizes published in this LBSRVS range: 21. Every model above is a separate specification sheet — send the model code, quantity and destination to request a cable specification.
