Distance drives the HDMI choice, the equipment port drives the VGA or DVI choice, and both have to be settled before a quotation is issued. The blocks below open the construction that matches each case.
Above a few metres the limit is usually the copper HDMI assembly itself, which is why long runs are specified as an active optical construction. LBS-2000 active optical HDMI cable is listed for 4K60 and 3D signal formats with a maximum length of up to 200 m and a customisable length, at 1920 x 1200 / 4K60 / 3D, 6 Gbps per channel and 18 Gbps total, to the HDMI 2.0 / HDCP 2.2 standard. Length is the first thing to fix for a display wall, a lecture hall or a projector run, because the construction changes with the distance.
Short assemblies inside a rack still have to hold a clean signal next to power and network cabling. LBS-1000 high-speed HDMI cable uses a 24 AWG 99.96% OFC conductor in a 19+1 core construction with three-layer tinned copper braid shielding and dual ferrites, and is available in multiple lengths. It is the copper assembly for equipment-to-equipment connections where the run stays inside the rack or the AV cabinet.
Request a Cable Specification →Projectors, control-room monitors and existing AV racks often still terminate on VGA or DVI, so the cable has to match the port that is already installed. VGA 3+9 is a 15-pin male-to-male cable built from 3 shielded RGB cores plus 9 auxiliary signal wires with foil and 128-strand tinned copper braid shielding. DVI-D Dual-Link is a DVI-D 24+1 dual-link cable listed for 2560 x 1600 at 60 Hz and 1920 x 1080 at 120 Hz. Both are specified by the connector on the equipment, not by the display resolution alone.
