Two-Core 1.5 mm² Jacketed Speaker Cable (8.3 mm Jacket O.D.)
The LBSRVS-2X1.5 is the smallest single-circuit model in the LBSRVS jacketed speaker range: two OFC conductors of 1.5 mm² (16 AWG), PVC conductor insulation and an overall PVC jacket with a published outer diameter of 8.3 mm. Two conductors carry one loudspeaker circuit — one positive and one negative — so this is the single-feed unit that the 6-core and 8-core models in the same range are built from.
Where the LBSRVS-2X1.5 Fits in a Project
- Fixed installation: one amplifier channel to one passive loudspeaker in bars, meeting rooms, classrooms, retail floors and KTV rooms, where the cable is clipped, drawn into conduit or run above a ceiling.
- Sound reinforcement: short single-speaker feeds inside a rack, a wall or a small stage — the 8.3 mm jacket is the smallest in this range, which helps where conduit or trunking is already tight.
- Project wiring: the same 2 × 1.5 mm² construction is the base unit when a project needs many identical single-speaker runs rather than one multi-core pull.
One Section Size, Three Core Counts in the Same Jacket
The 1.5 mm² conductor is published in three LBSRVS jacketed constructions. Core count decides how many loudspeaker circuits travel in one cable; the cross-section stays the same, so the conductor is identical and only the number of runs per pull changes.

There is no 4-core 1.5 mm² in this range: the published 4-core models start at 2.0 mm². If a project needs two circuits of this section, the 6-core model is the next step up rather than a 4-core.
Specifying LBSRVS-2X1.5
- Construction: 2 conductors, 1.5 mm² (16 AWG), OFC conductor, PVC insulation, overall PVC jacket, jacket O.D. 8.3 mm.
- Termination: two conductors terminate as one pair into a two-pole connector; where a four-pole connector is used, the pin-set rule for which pins carry the circuit is set out in NL2 vs NL4 vs NL8 speaker twist lock connectors.
- Section for the run: the conductor rule that decides whether 1.5 mm² is the right section for a given length and load is in how to choose speaker cable gauge, and the metric-to-AWG conversion is in mm² to AWG.
- Shielding: this is an unshielded jacketed construction; when a run needs a shield, the selection logic is in do speaker cables need shielding?
LBSRVS-2X1.5 Buying FAQ
Is 1.5 mm² (16 AWG) the right section for a long loudspeaker run?
That depends on the run length and the load the amplifier drives, not on the model code. Send the run length, the amplifier output per channel and the loudspeaker impedance, and the section is confirmed against the same gauge rule used in the guide above.
Can the two cores be split into two separate single-conductor runs?
The two cores are individually insulated inside one jacket and are intended to be terminated as one circuit, positive and negative. Splitting them is a site decision that changes the circuit, so it is confirmed per project rather than assumed.
Is the same construction available with more cores?
Yes — the LBSRVS jacketed range publishes 2, 4, 6 and 8 conductor models from 1.5 mm² to 6.0 mm², all with OFC conductors and PVC insulation and jacket.
Can jacket printing, colour, cut length and packaging be agreed for a project?
Construction, jacket colour, printing, length, packaging and branding can be reviewed according to the confirmed product and project quantity for OEM / ODM projects. Send the model, specification, quantity and destination to the LBS sales team.
