Choosing the Right Channel Count / 如何选择信道数

Count the signal paths between the stage panel and the console rack. 48 ways suits a large stage box where inputs, returns and spare channels together exceed the 24 or 32-channel sizes. Choose the smallest model that covers the total with a small spare allowance, and confirm connector format, fan-out length and packing in the enquiry.

Where this model sits in the stage-to-rack chain

A 48 way multicore is the run between a large stage box and the console rack: one cable carrying 48 balanced channels as 48 pairs inside a single jacket. The two ends are the parts that get decided with the cable — a multipin connector on the stage box, a fan-out or a second multipin at the rack — and the connector format belongs to the stage box, not to the cable.

Two substitutions are worth ruling out before an order is placed. A loudspeaker feed is not a balanced line and does not belong on a spare way of a signal multicore; and a DMX512 lighting bus is a 120 Ω twisted pair with its own termination rules, so it is ordered as its own cable rather than taken from this jacket.
