Shielded or unshielded for this run?
LBSRVS-T-0.75 is an unjacketed twisted pair: two PVC-insulated 4N OFC conductors twisted together for the whole length. The twist is the interference measure on this construction — interference reaching the pair is induced on both conductors in the same direction and largely cancels at the loudspeaker, which is why a speaker run of this kind normally does not need a shield. A shield becomes the right answer where the cable runs alongside mains or dimmer feeds over a long distance, or where the project specification names a shielded construction. The decision is set out in do speaker cables need shielding?
Specifying LBSRVS-T-0.75
- Construction: 2 × 0.75 mm², 2 conductors, 0.75 mm² (19 AWG), PVC insulation, overall O.D. 2.8 × 5.6 mm.
- Colour pairing: Blue/Red, Black/Red, White/Red, Yellow/Black, Green/Black, Brown/Blue, Grey/White, Orange/Black (custom color coding available upon request).
- Where it fits: unjacketed, so it belongs inside conduit, trunking or on a cable tray rather than trailing across a floor. The same pair is used for amplifier-to-loudspeaker wiring in meeting rooms, distributed systems and vehicle audio.
- Section for the run: the conductor rule for length and load is in how to choose speaker cable gauge; on a 100 V distributed line see speaker cable for 100 V line distributed audio.
To confirm this section for a project, send the application, the run length, the amplifier output or transformer tap, the required colour coding and the packaging unit.
